Dehli, India Part 2
One of the best parts of India…and Aero City
The Dehli Metro has air conditioning and is mostly underground.
Here were some of my instructions as a woman traveling solo and notes that I took;
Kashmere Gate has bus stops
T3 goes to AirPort Express, Orange.
Toward New Dehli, Switch trains 10 mins. To yellow towards. Sanapur
2 stations to Kashmere Gate for 80.
12:30 bus Raj Kalpara
Or zing bus 5pm From Kashmere Gate.
If those sound challenging. It was. What did I do? I finally, I booked a bus to Agra at 1:30 for a 7 pm departure. After going on the metro to New Dehli Station and then the Railway Station. The “guy” convinced me he worked there and was not collecting any money. Scam. Tourist Office was a joke. Good a/c but that’s all. Scared me, 500 people to a train car, no ac. Wanted to sell me a taxi ride for 8000. Scam 2, another travel agency, at least he admitted it. No seats on the train. Too bad!
So I took the Metro to Kashmere Gate and found the busses. Only none but this one was going to Agra, but I explored the city in the meantime. A few days later, I was in Aero City, so let me tell you about that.
Let’s discuss a region of Dehli called Aero City.
It’s really close, just minutes from the airport. Indira Gandhi International Airport, that is. It’s well connected to the rest of the city through the Airport Metro Line. And you can get to places in the center of Dehli, like Cannaught Place, in about 25 minutes.
Aero City is a top priority for safety and security for female travelers, with state of the art cameras, staff and surveillance. The hotels and surrounding public spaces are really nice.
Aero City was full of what’s new about India. All hotels, shopping and restaurants here. I felt Safe being here.
I took the AirPort Express Metro to Aero City and walked about 6 minutes in the 105 degree heat. When I arrived, drenched in sweat, the pool was on my mind! It made the walk bearable.! There were girls in the pool, sisters, who were my new friends. Age 8 and 11. They were in the room next to me and on a School holidays in Dehli. A break for the families and fun for me.
Ibis hotel was great. Gave them a 5 star rating. They even found my water bottle I left in the gym that morning. Saved me. Need my water!
The 7/11 store by World Mark and a bazaar store fed me for two days. I bought loaf of bread, peanut butter, orange juice, yogurt, health drink Yakult 5 pack, Hersheys chocolate coved aci blueberries. Yum.
The mini frig was good. Tea, plenty of water bottled, and Wi-Fi. The stores come to life at night.
